Periodontal Disease Pictures

In this picture the upper fourth premolar has root exposure secondary to periodontal disease.
Early periodontal disease stage 1. Notice the "angry" gum line. Tartar covers 90% of the visible tooth. Cleaning above the gumline will only correct the cosmetic appearance of this tooth. Root planning is required to treat this condition.
Notice the loss of both gum and bone that each of these teeth have experienced. This is stage 3 periodontal disease.
